The principle of equality conceded we feel the more confidence that Her Majesty's Government will give effect to that

principle

in all its consequences, and we are

content to leave the

final settlement in the hand of the Secretary of State and to indicate should they be willing to do so, the most acceptable form that compromise settlement could take.

His Excellency the Governor will greatly oblige us by sending a copy of this letter to the Right Honorable Secretary of State for

the

above, while we, as our rules prescribe, will send a copy to our Ecclesiastical authorities at home
