A regards the information requested in the letter from The Board of Treasury - No. 10985 dated 27th September 1879 which you hand me a copy, I have the honor to point out that, as Manager of one Branch of the Bank, I am not in possession of the details of the working of the Head office and other Branches and I am consequently unable to give completely and accurately, replies to the various questions asked. The Head office of the Bank alone can do this and I suggest that the information required be sought from the Chief Manager of the Bank. The Head Office is at 2, Old Broad Street, London.
On any points within my cognizance I shall be glad to give full information should His Excellency The Governor so desire. I presume however, that an imperfect Document would be useless for the purpose Your Majesty's Board of Treasury have in view. You have already about two years since furnished the Government with a copy of the Bank's Charter.
I have to,
(signed) I. H. Nelson, Manager
