the matter. How often, I dare say, any of my predecessors have been served, because this Excellency may refer to the Home Authorities and with instructions from them and to authorities here all the arrangements made the matter have involved an expenditure of £1000 a year for some time.
As you know I have been working hard to get the matter settled. I have been cut off from any kind of representation in the department with Reports published in the usual way. The Dead being permitted to lie without any notation in the Book and it is very difficult for me to say a word or give an opinion in the case that I should be allowed to put a word in before you can possibly grant a hearing.
I hope you will for a moment consider the seven years of work that have been done and will know how we are handicapped without having a say in the matter. I am at a loss how to proceed further in this.
