have been sufficient for the work of the Royal haval Yard for at least ten years, but I now regret very much to point out to Your Excellency that in consequence of the contruction of a new Road running from below the Victoria Gap, East, some thousands of tous of débris have been concentrated toward the Albany Nullah, and I have daily seen the shoal form off our Yard : for every particle off this new road, by the formation of the land, was bound to be washed down the Albany Nullah and there it has been washed

every fragment of it.

What is the consequence ? Our new pier has become useless and aw outlay of £2,000 has become necessary to give the required depth of Water for
