Mesara. C. B. Young, W. 8. Young, M. Young. Captain Palander brought down to the draw. ing room the actual charts he had used during the voyage, and throughout the evening they were inspected by the Governor's guests with great interest. The charts were Russian ones, and one of the minor results of the expedition has been the establishment of the fact that they are not accurate, inasmuch as a great deal that was put down as laud was actually sailed over by the Vega. The route was marked in red ink and pencil and showed these inaccuracies. Some specimens of the plants from the region where the Vega was so long bound up in the ice and photographs of the natives were also on the draw- ing-room tables.
After the party Captain Palander went on board the Vega, but Professor Nordenskiöld did not embark till half-past eight yesterday morn. ing. Governor Hennessy accompanied the Pro- fessor from Government House. The illustrious guest embarked for the Vega on the Government barge, and the vessel steamed out of harbour by the Ly-en-moon Pass shortly after nine o'clock. We understand Professor Nordenskiold, before bis departure, received from His Excellency, as a present to the Vega expedition, an herbarium of the plants of Hongkong and South China, prepared by Mr. Ford, the Head of the Bota nical Department of the Colony.
