out have little more to do than to sign letters embodying the Governors instructions and that could easily be done by the Chief Clerk.
I have endeavoured since I have been in this Colony to give as
much spistance
as is in my power to
the Governor by minating on papers in reference to what has been done previous occasions, to precedents in
analagous cases, or to the law

of putting all the facts before the Governor in order that be might have

not done so in more cases, it is
