HONGKONG GETS 'ADVICE' FROM COLONIAL OFFICE

London, Aug. 28.

On the advice of the British Government the nuthorities in Hongkong are to take additional safeguards against the export of strategic war materials to Communist China, official sources said today.

The Hongkong government was said to have already taken steps toward restricting the export of materials which were classified as "directly for war use" and it was understood that these restric- tions were to be widened considerably to include some 200 items
