The suggestion was made this afternoon by Mr W. J. Keswick, chairman of the China Associa- tion, at a meeting of this Association in London.

From the Regent's point view, autonomy would be illusory If the Panchen Lama was thrust into prominence in Tibet. Time alone will show the answers. If Peking tenders mean what they say. It will 'be a' comfort, but no "satisfactory" yardstick is yet available.
