SUNDAY'S GAME AT IRC
THE PICK OF THE CRICKET PROGRAMME
BY."RECORDER"
Though there is a full list of League matches
to be decided,
the cricket match of the week-end should be that on Sunday between Indian Recreation Club and M. J. Divecho's XI at Sookunpoo.
com.
This is in the nature of a trini game from which an All-India team will be selected for “Tests” against other national teams. It is hoped to arrange plete series of these against Portugal, Australia, China and England.
The pick of the First Division games seems to be that between Crnigengower Cricket Club, nt home at the Valley, and Club de Recreio. Last season in the same match the Recreio batsmen were in considerable difficulties against P. J. Billimoriu In one his best bowling spells since the war.

France's XV Is More Unpredictable Than Ever Before
By PETER LOVEgrove
France's National XV, which has neter yet won the International tournament: though it has been runner-up three times since the War, travels to Murrayfleld on January 14 to open the new championship season. The spirited Frenchmen, frequent- ly brilliant, often erratic, always unpredictable, are still striving after their first success on Scottish soll, but can do it this time if they do not allow themselves to be rattled off their game.

They have travelled a long way since the early years of the century when they were a chopping-block for all and sundry. Wales, for instance, won their first fifteen encounters off the reel, scoring 36, 47 and 49 points respectively in the first three matches, while England, who started off with 81 points from two games, had a run of 17 matches without encountering defeat.
