Steel Workers' Deaths Blamed On De Gasperi
Modena, Jan. 11-Two hundred thousand Italian workers poured into the centre of Modena today to hear Signor Alcide de Gasperi's Govern- ment branded assassins and murderers in a violent funeral speech by the Communist leader, Signor Palmiro Togliatti, over the bodies of six Italian steel workers who were killed in Monday's strike 'trouble.
While the Government held its final meeting in Rome before its resignation and reshuffle, pro- yoked by the withdrawal of right wing Socialists two months ago, nearly 100 Socialist and Com- munist Members of Parliament assembled in Modena to follow the funeral procession of the dead steel workers.
