NIGHTMARE FOR AMERICAN BOXING PROMOTERS AS ALL PROSPECTS DIM

As the summer drew to a close, the prospect could not have been rosler. Rocky Graziano was reinstated and won back his accustomed popularity with a spectacular knockout at Charley Fusari; Jake LaMotta was scheduled against Mar- cel Cerdan in a big-money outdoor match; Ezzard Chülles was proving himself-a fighting champion.
Ray Robinson was planning to vacate the welterweight throne to try for which would benefit both classes, since Ray's the middleweight title, a move duperiority has killed interest in the welters, and there seemed to be a good crop of youngster on the way up through the preliminarios.
