HOUSE FOR FOOD PROPOSED TO FAO
London, Sept. 21.- International experts to- day called for a $5,000,000,000 clearing house which would prevent some countries destroying surplus food while people in other parts of the world starved.
In a report to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation, the experts said that the proposed clearing house would build a bridge over which surpluses could move to areas which were short of food.
They warned that unless an early solution is found, surplus countries will pay to restrict or destroy production. This would cause the econo- mic idleness of farm resources, bringing un- employment to many workers.
Importing countries will have high prices and reduced consumption of food.
And at both ends, the ex- permitted clearing the account. perta declared, regimenta- tion and restriction will in crease and dumping or anti- dumpingr practices will grow, further disorganising International trade.

The Director General of the FAO has submitted the experis report to member government with a strong recominendation for approval and implemen- tation.
The experts were called in by when the the FAO last June Organisation serated danger that some countries were going to have unsaleable agricultural surpluses whlic other peoples went short even to the extent
of starving.
The men chosen for the job were Professor J. B. Condlife, of the University of California: Mr Colin Clark, Director of the Bureau of Industry and Econo- mics, Queensland, Australia: Mr
K. Galbraith, J.
of Harvard University; Dr Chosh, Economic Adviser to the Jute Mills Asso clation, India; Mr Guptave Pollt, Economie Adviser to the Inlin- America Economic Commission, and Mr R. Radomyar, of the London School of Economics,
