"SPECTATOR" REVIEWS THE UPSET
SOFTBALL SEASON
... One Long Storm Session
For The Association
Before proceeding to review the past-season activities, I remind all that tonight is the night! Softball enthusiasts adjourn the from the ballpark after another season of play for the finale prize presentation to the winners of the Championships, in conjunc tion with which a dance, the usual annual affair, is to be held. The venue for the combined function is the Peninsula Hotel. be there; it's sure to be worth the while!

The Leagues started with bright prospects of a highly successful season Reasoned Colourful and thought. -the best since the re-occupation, it was players turned out again for Recrelo. The Americans were well represented by the American Club. The Major League had fine support. The ladies had plenty- of competition. The Minor loop was saturated with enthusiasm.
The anticipated "bumper year", not more than one month after the ball playing started with a resounding bang, began to show signs of backfiring on the tipaters of optimlam.
Dissatisfaction voiced by players and supporters in the "Correspondence" columns of the Press, withdrawals, burring of players from participation, hotly contested protests, boycott-they all claimed a share to make the past season appear the most hectic since the inception of local softball. It was incidentally one long, stormy session for the Association.
