RUSSIAN VICE-PREMIER SACKED
Top Soviet Hierarchy Shake-Up Continues
Moscow, March 14.-It was disclosed today that M. Nikolai A. Voznesenky has been relieved of duties as Vice-Premier and chair- man of the Soviet state Planning Commission. The latest shift in the top Soviet hierarchy came to light when the Council of Nationalities, one of the two houses of the Soviet Parliament, ratified the appointment of M. Maksim Zaharovich Saburov to those two posts. There was no immediate indication whether the 45-year-old Voznesenky remains a member of the all powerful Soviet Politburo.
It was announced that Saburov took over as Vice-Premier and Chief of the State Planning Commission on March 5. The chairman of the Planning Commission is responsible for planning and co- ordinating the Soviet economy.

Voznesenky became chairman in 1938 and his latest major task the framing of Russia's first postwar five-year plan. He became a full member of the Politburo in 1947 at the age of 43 and was the only member who also was a member of the Academy of Sciences by virtue of his scholastic achieve- ments. Premier Stalin and Vice-Premier V. M. Molotov are honorary mem- bers.

Britain Sends A Warning Note To Israeli
TROOPS WILL BE FIRED ON IF THEY CROSS BORDER
London, Mar. 14-Britain sent a note to Israel last week warning that the British troops stationed in the Transjordan port of Akaba had instructions to fire on any forces crossing the Israeli-Transjordan border, it was learned from a usually reliable diplomatic source today.
The note, handed to Mr Joseph Linton, acting head of the Israeli Political Mission in London, was believed also to have asked the reason for the Israeli troop movements last week, when the triangular strip of Southern Palestine between the Egyptian and Trans jordan frontiers-including the eight-mile coastline adjacent to the port at the head of the Gulf of Akaba-was occupied.

An Israeli reply to the note,, understood to have been livered in Tel-Aviv, was believ ed to have assured Britain that the intentions of the troops were peaceful.
