Washington, Feb. 13.-The United States Government is expected to decide this week whether to expel Hungarian Minister Andrew Sik in retalia- tion for the forced recall of the American envoy to Budapest, Selden Chapin.

Four Bye-Elections Pending
London, Feb. 13.-Conservatives are hoping to capture their first seat from the Labour Government in the "miniature general election" pending in Bri- tain. Bye-elections will take place in four constituen-' cies won or held by Labour in 1945, and in one of these -South Hammersmith, London-the chances of the Government are considered slim.
The Labour Party shows relatively little anxiety over the three remaining seats-North St Pancras, London; Batley in Yorkshire; and Sowerby, York- shire. These had more solid Labour majorities than South Hammersmith at the 1945 general election.
The Sowerby vacancy was caused by the resig nation of Mr John Belcher, Secretary of the Board of Trade who figured in the proceedings of the Lynskey Tribunal which investigated allegations of corruption, in Government quarters. Mr Belcher resigned from "Office" and from Parliament,
A strong candidate may be re- quired to counter any local reaction to the circumstances of his resigna- tion, but Labour is confident of holding the seat, which it won from the Conservatives with a majority of nearly 7,000 in the 1945 three- coracret contest.
