The prosecution hoped to close its case by to- morrow evening, announced Mr A. Hooton, Crown Counsel, at the Criminal Sessions this morning when the Court assembled to hear further evidence in the lengthy PWD larceny case.
Mr Justice Reynolds suggested that there should be a break before the defence opened, provided the prosecution closed before the Chinese New Year.

Three warders attached to Victoria Remand Prison, Timothy Din, 29, Gussy Maria dos Santos, 26, and Sapto Ahmed, 20, and an ex-warder, Jose Maria Dias Azedo, appeared for trial before Mr Justice Wicks at the Criminal Sessions this morning, on 11 counts of demanding money with menaces, corruption in office and conspiracy. They pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Jury empanelled comprised five men and two women.
Two of the accused, Santos and Azedo, speak Portuguese and a special interpreter had to be en- gaged to translate the proceedings for their benefit.
