HAVE in front of me as I write a Photostat. copy of one of the most interesting documents that have come my way for some time, The document is an agreement between the Indonesian Republic and an American business man, Mr Matthew Fox, of New York.
The agreement provides for the setting up of an American-Indonesian corporation which is to have the monopoly not only over all trade between America and Indonesia, but over the exploration and exploitation of this rich country's resources.
The language of the preamble is almost as idealistic and optimistic in the prospects it holds out as that of any of the Soviet monopoly agree- ments in Rumania or Hungary. And its terms are not much different either. The Americans get 51 percent of the voting shares in the corpora- tion, the Indonesians 49.
