WANTS MARSHALL AID TO DUTCH SCRUTINISED
Indonesians To Fight On Says Envoy
New York, Dec. 21.-Dr D. Soemitro, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Indonesian Republic, told a New York press conference today that he had "firmly based" hopes that Marshall aid allotments to Holland "would be subject to close scrutiny to say the least."
He added that he had "reason to believe that some other Governments are also urging the United States to cut off aid."
He said the Republican Government would con tinue to operate from Sumatra and would stay in Indo- nesia as long as it held some territory.
•
Dr Soemitro added: "I wish to state that now the abrogated tho Dutch have in such a treacherous way agreement signed under the auspices of the United Na- tions, we on our part will carry on as an independent 'and sovereign State." -
