CANADIANS MEET CHALLENGE OF VRC TOMORROW Recreio's Withdrawal Presents

A Curious Situation

The current all-conquering Senior League leaders, Bill Woo's Cana dians, this week face the threat of their nine-game winning streak being severed.

They are to meet a strong challenger to their present most favoured position in the pennant race-Charles Figueiredo's Victoria Recreation which, having already suffered defeat twice, are all out to stay in. Another loss puts them almost completely ont.

This is the big game of the week. It is on at 2 p.m. tomorrow at King's Park. The Canucks are favoured to win again for general steadiness, against the flashy but unreliablo play dished out usually by the peppery VRC squad.

Meanwhile, the Portugal squad for the coming International Series has been selected. This team includes eight Rec players. Old Warhorso Charlie Figueiredo has been voted Manager. The members are:

Gerry Gosano, Joe France, Dickie Alves, Wilfred Lawrence, Art Ozorio, Gusule Perreira, Billy Soares, Alvaro Xavier, Mamie Xavier, Eddie Gerano, Bertic Gosano, Spotty Pereira, Avichi Yvanovich, Rennle at Sequeira and Charlie Quinn.
