ENGLAND WINS THE INTERNATIONAL
Belfast, Oct. 9.—England beat Ireland by six goals to two in the first Home International soccer match of the season here this afternoon.
England, however, were not all that superior as the score might suggest.
The match was really decided in the 66th minute when Stan Mortensen scored England's third goal. Until then Ireland were fighting hard to get on equal terms for the second time, but Mortensen's gouls really knocked the spirit out of the Irish attack, although they never stop- ped trying.
