WANT U.S. TO DO
LIKEWISE
London. Sept. 19.-Soviet Russia announced today that her occupation troops would leave Koren, the Soviet-America centre on the East China coast, by January 1, 1919, according to Moscow Radio.
The announcement, made by the Soviet Foreign Ministry, said that it was "hoped that the United States would also evacuate the former Japanese-held peninsula which both countries have held since Japan's collapse.
The Russian troops have held the north, the Americans the south, the boundary being the 38th Parallel.
The Russian evacuation, the statement said, was to begin not later than the second half of October. A statement by the USSR Foreign Ministry quoted by Moscow Radio said the question of the simultaneous
troops withdrawal of Soviet and United States Korea, rained by the "Supreme National Assembly of Korea," was referred by the Soviet Government to the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet.
