SPORTS FEATURES..
Tremendous interest has been arouied in this afternoon's meeting of Lien Hwa, the Malayan Chinese team, and the Combined Hongkong Chinese XI. Although the Malayans have not yet touched the form which carried them to victory in the unofficial In- terport match which was played three weeks ago, there were signs in yesterday's match with the Hong- kong civilians that they were running into their best form.
•
It is another busy week-end for local footballers. Yesterday representatives of several firat division clubs were doing battle on the Police Ground. To-day, in addition to the 'big match on the Navy Ground, there is a senior league match on the Club ground; while to- morrow, there are six fist division and six second divi- sion games on the bill.

(BY "SEE TEE")
How often do experiments in choosing representa- tives teams come off? The selectors of the United Ser- vicos eleven which drew with the Malayan Chinese are to be congratulated in getting together such a good side under difficult conditions. First and last in soc- cer it is team work which is so important. In the US team were six regular members of the Royal Air Force team; two full-backa, a wing half and three forwards. It was this thread of team work which carried the strain in several awkward situations.
Specially pleasing to the selectora | bered for his capable pair of hands, must have been the forward play. Connura was as clever a bux of Although the opening-out process tricks (and completely tireless too) was not so often or pronounced as t we may see for a long time, Barr, although not really tall enough to be a dominant centre half, has shown fine defensive understanding and positional technique in several recent representative

England Gave World A New Form Of Wrestling
(BY GEORGE MACKENZIE)
of
Wrestling is one of the most universal forms physlenl activity, athletic prowess, sport and recreation practised in the world. Indeed, details of the cult of wrestling are found in the most ancient records of athletic pursuits. It was one of the events in the original Olympic Games over 2,700 years ago taking pride of place with foot racing.
