Strange Reversal Of Form In Anglo-French Athletic Meeting
(By REC ORDER)
The annual athletic contest between Great Britain and France, held this year at the Colombes Stadium in Paris, received very short notice from the news agencies when it was held on Sunday, September 8.
In the whole series, going back some 20 years, it was the one en- counter in which things did not run 10. form. It has always been the norm that Britain bagged the run- ning events and France the fold contests,
At Colombes three weeks ago the situation was strangely reversed. The French runners ran the Britons;
despite MacDonald Balley, off their legs and the Britons surprised by bagging nearly all the neid events points.
MacDonald Bailey's celipse in both a major sprints did not come as surprise to anyone. The Trinidad Bash has not only pulled a tendon, worse than that, he has very nearly burned himself out in a series over the season of more than 20 starts.
