Japanese Help To Plan DUMBBELLS
New Manchuria, But Chinese Ignore Advice
By JOHN RODERICK
Associated Press. Staff Correspondent
The Japanese in Changchun, which I visited recently, are helping their conquerors to plan the reßabilitation of a great broken industrial empire.
Japanese technicians, economists and scientists have been put to work in Manchuria to aid the Chinese Govern- ment in drawing up a programme of reconstruction.

War Losses
BY GARRY LANZIL Now here's a thing for Scots to digest and for the other races that make up this marvellous is land of Britain to think about also. The number of Scots who were killed in the war just end- ed was 29,000. That is 5,000 more than Scotland's proportion on a population basis. On this basis England and Wales should have lost 216,177, and actually Jost 217,000. Northern Ireland came out of it best with n death roll of 3,000. On the proportion. ate basis 6,715 Northern Irish- men would have been killed.
