THE HONGKONG TELEGRAPH, FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 1947.

THAT WAS!

These four pictures were taken fast Wednesday werk: when the Japanese war memorial was blown up at Mount Cameron. Cameras set at nearby Magazine Gap recorded this death knell of what the Nips called their "Pagoda of the Loyal Spirits." These same pictares. were published in some of the early coples of last Saturday's "Telegraph”, but they had to be withdrawn. owing to a technical brenkdown. They are being reprinted to-day because It is felt they constitute an historical record which many renders would like to be able to retain. (Ming Yuen photos)
