In reference to the letter from Colonial Office, dated 14th August last (66470)
enquiring whether two trained men, under this Department, could be
serving recommended to fill the posts of Warder and Head Thonkey respectively, in the Stong Hong Frison Service; I have now the honor to submit for transmission to the Colonial Office, the accompanying

of Candidates, who have volunteered for these situations under the conditions prescribed, accompanied by the opinions of the Governors of the Prisons in which they
