Battle Dress For Civilians In England is Predicted

Special to the "Telegraph"

HARROGATE, June 3 (UP)-Mr Morris May, President of the Leeds Wholesale Clothiers Association to-day predicted that the Government will be forced to adopt "battle dress for civilians" either worn with. collar and tie or buttoned up to the neck.

Mr May declared: "That is the only way clothing for the workingman can be placed on the market at prices within reach and of hard wearing quality which is now completely beyond reach. Such battle dress would not need a lining, therefore it could be produced on a large scale much more rapidly than ordinary lounge suits. By a buttoned up neckwear the worker could dispense with a shirt which would require laundering."

Some Axis leaders, including Japan, are convinced that now is the time to involve the United States.

They declare that the ammunition output is so slim that the United States at war could not send more than a dribble of supplies to Britain because she would need all for herself..

The power of initiative is clearly in the hands of the Axis. Hitler can pull the United States into the war, at any moment that would suit his purposes to do so. President Roosevelt has pledged himself not to send American soldiers to war unless we are attacked but declares that he will see that American aid 'E
