London, Mar. 9. The career of an Italian com- merge raider in the Indian Ocean has come to a sudden end and her crew are now prisoners of war, tuken by a New Zealand cruiser.
The story is told In an Admiralty communique issued this morning, which states.--"A fast tallun mer- chantship, which was armed with four 4.7 in. guns und was acting as a commerce raider, has been eatight in the Indian Ocean by the Leander (Cant R. H. Bevan), a cruiser of the New Zealand squadron.
The italian ship was the Ramb 1, 3.667 tons, 18 knots speed, and was owned by the Italian Government. She was flying the Red Ensign when intercepted by 11.M.S. Leander.
