Preparations for a flight are so elaborate, so manifold and smooth co-ordination-of-all-the-parties-involved and, when the plane returns, at least as much work is required to effect its over- haul and to do any necessary repairs. This is where the En- gineer-officer, or the "Plane Doctor," gets busy.
