Sir Archibald said that there was frm evidence to show that at least twelve such contemptible attacks had been made and in four of them the airmen may have been killed.

Asked whether in view of the fact that such a practice was repugnant to airmen of whatever nationality, some representation might be made through a neutral government to the German and Italian governments, Sir Archibald sald that he was not hope- ful of such representations.
