Tackling From An Opponent's Left WEEK-END
Common Fault That May Cause Accidents
AN AGE-OLD PRACTICE
Among the playing faultS on the hockey field, one of the most common, and, per- haps, the cause of many an accident is that of wrongly tackling from an opponent's left.
While most definitely barred by the Rules of the game, the action is frequently seen even in first-class hockey, and the practice of fouling an opponent is an
old one..
It is one thing to make it illegal in Rules, but it is another for an umpire to be strict in its enforcement and interpretation. It is dealt with in Rule 10 (g) which says:
