TRAGIC SHANGHAI SUICIDE

Old Woman Run Over By Trolley

An old Chinese woman of 67, finding herself penniless and friendless committed suicide by allowing herself to be run over by a railless trolley in Zao Kai Doo, on Jessfield Road, Shanghal, where a No. 16 Route trolley was just turning round for a down- town course,

The driver apparently did not notice the old woman lying in the middle of the street, so that the trolley ran over the body of the old woman, killing her instantly.

On searching the old woman's person, a letter was found, indleating her motive to end her life in this tragic munner. In this letter, said that she had come to Shanghai her native country,
