Eastern Beat Kwong Convincing Rugger Win By Navy Fifteen

Wah In Close Match

Wong King-chung Plays An Excellent Game

(By "SCRAMBLER")

THE FORM DISPLAYED by Eastern in their senior football encounter against Kwong Wah yesterday on Carolino Hill did not strike one, as that of a league winning team. But for the fact that they wore aided by a penalty for a doubtful infringement, they would not have obtained both points by the odd goal in fivo.

Kwong. Wah had as much of the play as their op- ponents, but poor finishing nullified the good work put in by their left winger, Wong King-chung. Eastern indulged in far too much petty passes and individualistic work, with the result that their finishes in front of goal were woefully weak. Their approach work was good, but up to a cer tain point, they invariably overdid it.

Soveral attempts were made at goal, and Yu Hop-hing had bad luck in seeing his shots striking the up- right on two occasions. Play there- after was confined mostly to midfeld, and although both sides strove hard to add to their score, they, were pre- vented by two stubborn defences.

Kwong Wah delighted specta-appeared to gain a hold on their tors with a very quick goal opponents. "scored by Wong King-chung, who, receiving a pass from Chouk Shok-kam, cut in to score with a daisy cutter that gave Lau Hin-hon no chance. This Icad was short lived, for the Eastern returned to the attack thereafter, and from a pass by Two Chow-fu, Hau Ching-tau cut in from what appeared to be an offside position to, put his team on level terms.

Play was very oven at this peelod, both goals were visited In turn, and had the Kwong Wah, forwards no- cepted the passas presented by Wong King-chung, they would at least have been two goals up. Lee Kwok-kee was tested weakly by Hau Ching- tau and he was soon seen flating out from

centre by Chung Yung-sum. With play transferred to the other ball, Wong King-chung cut across to pass Lau Fook-chuen, who evading the pair of backs, drew Lau Hin-
