At 11 a.m. the President of the Hongkong and China Branch of the British Legion, Mr. A. W. Hughes, and Mr. F. C. Hall, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph. Others in the official party were Messrs. G. G. N. Tinson, H. V. Wilkinson, D. Kossick, F. G. Maunder, Major C, M. Manners, and Mr. C. Trott, representing the Mer- chant Navy.

At 10 a.m. Dean Wilson conducted service of prayer at St. John's Cathedral at which the congregation partook of Holy Commur, again His Excellency the Governor, g accompanied by his Alde-do-Camp, arrived, at 10.45 p.m. when the service was continued by the Dean, who offered special prayers for the suffer- ing, orphans and the bereaved in the last war. The two minutes" -allence was observed with the congregation standing in silent prayer.
