Conscripts Will Have Hostesses

Hostesses employed by the United States Army to direct clubhouse cafeterias and arrange social events will provide a touch of home for the new conscript army, says United Press. .

Because many of the conscripts, 21 to 35 years old, will be away from home for the first time, the Army said it wanted to make them happy.

The Army planned to establish closer relations between camps and ncar-by communities. The hostesses, who will be selected by post com- munders, will be required to have wide acquaintance in the neighbour- hood. They will chaperon visiting mothers, sisters and sweethearts, as well as arrange dances and other social events.
