BRITISH MILITARY
MISSION
CHUNGKING, Oct 22 (Rou- tor). There is no information here concerning the report that Britain is sending a military
mission to China.
Well-informed quarters are in clined to the beller that such a mis sion is unnecessary at the present Juncture as they are convinced that Japan is unlikely to take drastic | aciton in the near future either agathat Britain or the United States

Chinese circles are of the opinion that Japan will probably confine her activities at present to the bombing of the Burma Road and also to strengthening her position in Indo- China.
Despite her threats, Japan for economic if not other reasons, is not in a position to wage a war in the Pacific bgainst America or Britain.
A British military mission to China would be necessary in the event of a determined Japanese drive towards Burma for an attack on Singapore.
