NEW RAILWAY RATE STRONGLY OPPOSED

M.P.S JOIN PROTEST ALHAMBRA THEATRE AGAINST HIGH FARES

MANY M.P.S HAVE RECEIVED STRONG PROTESTS FROM THEIR CONSTITUENTS AGAINST THE PROPOSED ADDITIONAL INCREASE IN RAILWAY FARES. HERE ARE SOME TYPICAL COM- MENTS:

Mr. George Hicks (Lab., E. Woolwich), general secretary of the Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers: "Several branches and individual members of my union have already complained to me. It may be necessary for the railways to raise this additional money, but is it certain that all the available sources at the top have been tapped?
