1 Colonial Treasury, 22nd Oct:1877. "The weekly return of the 20th Instant "shows that the balance in the Bank amounts to $56,467.

"The probable receipts into Treasury up to 31 October from all sources.) $40,000

"Probable ordinary expenditure to the end of October $8,000

9. Payment to Departments on the 22nd Instant * $32,469.

"The expenditure for last week unusually small; therefore unless there is any extraordinary expenditure, $20,000 "can be forthwith placed on deposit "at interest of 5 per cent. I have ascertained that the Manager of the "Oriental Bank is willing to accept a deposit upon the same terms as last time, $24,000
