LONDON, Sept. 9. (UP).-Royal Air Force units heavily bombed shipping in French and Belgian ports on the Channel coast in raids which lasted all night yester- day, despite intense A.A. Are, rain, sleet, thunder and lightning, said an Air Ministry statement, amplifying reports on British raids to-day.

The statement said the raids on Ostend lasted 7%1⁄2 hours from 9 p.m., starting several fires.
