STOOLBALL, claimed by many as the origin| of cricket, is making itself known to the public once more as it did for a while during the last war. During that period—1915-18—use was made of Lord's for exhibition games in aid of the war ef- fort.

Taking its place among other games in the concerted sports drive in aid of the War Fund, which now total near- ly £75,000, stoolball was played last month on the lawns

of the Inner Temple. The accompanying picture shows Major Baseball one of those games in progress.
