Don Bradman Stands Against Sport During War Time

STOOLBALL, claimed by many as the origin of cricket, is making itself known to the public once more as it did for a while during the last war. During that period—1915-18—use was made of Lord's for exhibition games in aid of the war of- fort.
Taking its place among other games in the concerted sports drive in aid of the War Fund, which now total near- ly £75,000, stoolball was played last month on the lawns
of the Inner Temple. The accompanying picture shows Major Baseball

Omar Brothers Reach Quarter-Finals Of Pairs Championship
EXCEPT for a short spell in the middle of the game, when W. Gill and G. Duncan drew within one shot of their opponents-9-10-the Omar Brothers, U. M. and A. M., maintained a comfortable lead throughout the fourth round match in the lawn bowls pairs championship played at the Civil Service C.C. yesterday, and eventually won 25-11; thus qualifying for the quarter-final stages.
