A RECORD CROWD should be present at the European Y.M.C.A., Kowloon, on Saturday when the season's biggest gala-European "Y" v. Lai Tsun v. Chung Sing v. V.R.C.-will be held. From the 50 yards free-style to the 440 free-style, in the back-stroke and broast-stroke events, and in the relays and medley relays there will be keen competition from start to finish,

Perhaps, in the 440 free-style will be seen the keenest competition of all. Should the four best of these Clubs turn out-W. Lawrence (V.R.C.), Chan Chun-nam (Lai Tsun), Ng Nin (Chung Sing) and G. T. May ("Y")—there would be a race for which alone it would be worth while making an effort to get in and scc.

ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to inform our many clients of the receipt of information from our principals,

DRAWS for the First Round of the Singles, the Fourth Round of the Pairs and the Semi-finals of the Rinks lawn bowls championships were made yesterday.

And then comes G. T. May, who, besides swimming on his "home" course, has yet to be beaten over this distance in the "Y" pool. May has proved himself by his times to be one of the strongest swimmers in the Colony, and I shouldn't be par ticularly surprised I he pulls it oft on Saturday.

THE women's Open 100 yards free- style should also be an interest- Ing struggle. The Lai Tsun-V.R.C. gala of last week saw Miss V. Chum beat Miss Ko Mo-ying by two-fifths of a second over 50 yards. A return inceting,

eting, though

over a longer dis-' tance, is to be walled for.

Incidentally, in connection with the women's 100 yards race, enities

will close to-morrow, and beats, if necessary, will be held on Thurs- day at 0.30 p.m.

THEN there is the 150 yards medley

relay. The V.R.C, telo estab

shed an unofficial Colony record for

this event when they met Lal Tsun last week--and then only won by n on the other "short head." Over side of the harbour, Chung Sing
