The Economic Co-operation Commissim of the Pan-American Conference has adopted the Chilean proposal pro- viding that Latin-American countries shall take over the public utily con- cerns controlled by extra-continentul interest which are threatened with seizure by foreign Interests.

Increasing Amounts Being Carried

The amount of mail received Hongkong for despatch to England by Clipper is increasing each week. At present the amount of mall has averaged between 30 and 40 lbs. week, but this amount will rapidly increase as India has 1,000 kilos of mail a week for England.

This mail is at present being sent air. by surface routes and not by because if India were to send all her mall by air it would crowd out mails from Australia, New Zealand, Malaya and Hongkong.

Pan American Airways can easily carry 1,000 kilos of mail from India In addition to the, mall being received from Singapore, and Rangoon. This mail la at present being carried by it is Imperial Airways planes, but expected that permission will be granted the C.N.A.C. future to carry mails from India op Hs Itangoon-Hongkong service.
