Should Championship
Games Be Cancelled?
Craigengower-Recreio "A" Duel. To-day May Decide Premier League Honours (By "Wick")
A TENSE SITUATION
Whether In friendly matches or competitions, this game of lawn bowls
IF RAIN had not interfered at all with the Lawn Bowls Loague, last Saturday would have, seen the completion of the first half of the pro- gramme in the First and Second Divisions. But holds great interest for His followers. the weather has been so unfavourable of late that This is a Club game in progress at not a single toam can claim to have completed their first-round fixtures-not even in the Third Division, in which there are two matches less in cach round.
It is to be hoped that the weather will not intervene to such an extent during the second half of the season. Apart from the League games each Saturday, there are the Colony Championships to consider. These competi- tions have made very little progress to date, chiefly on account of the wet weather.

During the week I read of aj *** suggestion to cancel the Pairs) Championship owing to the enli made upon bowlers by volunteer duties. It is yet too early to say how much these duties will affect Cralengower the tournaments; and until it has Kowloon C.C. been proved that they cannot be Indian R.C, run because of volunteering, Police R.C. do not think it would be wise to wash them out. In any case, the j Lawn Bowls Association has

OF the League matches played
last week little need be said; They have already been dealt with fully. The most impressive performance was that of the In- dians who visited Kowloon C.C. and won by the handsome mar- gin of 26 shots.
Two factors contributed greatly to the Indians' victory, (1) the match) was played on the new green, which proved as strange to the K.C.C. inen as to the visitors; and (2) many of the K.C.C. players seemed preoccu pled with the evacuation order and consequently did not appear to be conerntrating sufficiently match.
