British Postal Agencies in Japan
Transmits correspondence regarding the discontinuance of
Enclosure No 1 in Governor J. Pope Hennessy's Despatch No 114 of 14th September 1879.
In obedience to the request contained in your note of this date, that I should report upon the subject of the Postal Agencies at Hiogo and Nagasaki which forms the subject of Sir Harry Parkes' Despatch of the 28th August, I beg to state that as those Offices are agencies of the Imperial Post Office, it would be, in my opinion, desirable to leave the matter
