THE MORE RIGID PROGRAMME of training for the Hongkong Volunteers, of which I, as one of the Corps, fully approve, will probably have its effect on the local sports compotitions now in bo-| ing. The rain over the past few weeks has done nothing to improve the progress of either the lawn bowls tournament or the tennis league, and because of this further postponements are ́de- finitely to be avoided.
