IT WAS ONLY LAST WEEK that I made mention of the scarcity of golf nows from Home, yet within the short space of seven days three items of interest have reached us-a description of Henry Cotton's vic tory over Alfred Padgham in the "News of the World" £1,250 Tourna- ment, news that Cotton has reached the £10,000 mark in his collections for the British Red Cross Fund, and the rankings of the British players for 1939.
