and the Hongkong Government restricting the reissue of one dollar notes that are worn out may be destroyed. It appears from the correspondence that the Government gave permission to the Bank Manager to reissue such notes from time to time as he may think advisable so long as the total circulation did not exceed $226,000.
3. I learn from Mr. Garkson, the present Manager, that he is now availing himself of that apparently very reasonable permission.
