: SPECIAL TO THE "TELEGRAPH" LONDON, April 5 (UP).-Lord Woolton, Britain's newly appointed Minister of Food, to-day launched
a speech appealing to national food campaign with Britain's women to mobilise a "kitchen front.”
He urged the small consumer to avoid all waste, pointing out that a slice of bread wasted every day by everyone would mean a waste of thirty shiploads of wheat a year.
He urged that the peacetime formula of one spoonful of tea for each person and one for the pot be changed to "one for each person and none for the pot❞ which would save sixty shiploads of tea each year if adopted in every household.
