KOWLOON C. C. WIN Bright Shield Hopes: Army Surprise Indians At Sookunpoo
THE CIVIL SERVICE team have got a definito hoodoo on them at prosent, and they really ought to do something about it. On Saturday last they word without Fortescue, who was ill, and Mc- Lollan, and; of course, this had to happen when they were playing the K.C.C., who are about the strongest side in the Colony.
As usual there were far too many passengers in the side.. Richardson only just got into double figures, but Colledge (20), Perry (27) and Hawkins (22) all did well. But the rest flopped and owing to mis- understanding, Cruttwell had failed to turn out. The result was the side was out for 118
runs.
Heins one short, the CS. had a olie out, and, of course, it was to him that F. J. Lay put up a dolly antch at mid-on wheis only about ten runs had been scored. Down it went, and the pair took the scure to
60 before inwkins caught Anderson !

Then things altered. Perry strain- ed his back, and Fenton went
again while Whitley proceeded

the K.C.C. people got on the run, and Fenton in his second spell took 4 for

DENYER AGAIN
THIS looked pretty well. safe, and been had not it might have Denyer come into the picture. Skip- with, who seems one of those bats- men who come off on the Club ground rather than elsewhere, and Shaw both falled; but then Denyer, who had previously taken five for forty-eight, got going and co did Webb. When they had departed for 43 and 40 respectively Petri and Grose knocked off the runs.
It was a gellant victory following a sporting declaration, and as the Umpires at Manoeuvrea used to say -both sldca deserved much credit.
